hi Ross and alljust solved my own issue; it's done from the Track I/O dialog , accessed with Shift+I while in Reaper's track view. select the "sends" radio button , then tab to the combo box with the list of active sends , after selecting a send , tab until you come across a pair of buttons with a pointing arrow in between them. the first button determines which of the source track's audio channels feed the send , while the second one determines which channels on the destination track will receive the stream.
all the very best Roy. www.soundclick.com/tzackeek----- Original Message ----- From: "Ross McGregor" <rossmcg@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

on cubase i have a track output selection. can feed the track either to the main stereo out, or send it to any of the outputs on the audio card. or send it to a group.
I imagine you would have a track output assign selection in sonar? Ross. but presume you want to send----- Original Message ----- From: Roy Shtupler To: Reapers Without Peepers ; midimag@xxxxxxxxxxx ; realmusicians@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Sent: Thursday, February 10, 2011 9:02 AM Subject: [midi-mag] routing of multi channel audio tracks hi listersI have a multi-channel audio track e.g whose number of audio channels is set to 16; and wish to split every pair of channels to a seperate track. what is the easiest , most accessible way for us to route each send to a pair of channels e.g a send to track 2 will send audio from channels 1 and 2 , a send to track 3 will deliver the audio from channels 3 and 4 , and so on?
any ideas greatly appreciated. cheers Roy. www.soundclick.com/tzackeek__________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 5860 (20110209) __________
