Hey Ross,

I haven't played with hotspot in ages, but here's my 2 cents worth.

You should be able to do what you want. But not knowing anything about this particular window and listbox I can only hazard guesses. If clicking on the list brings it into focus and you can then scroll or enter text to get to the desired preset you could just make a hotspot to click on it and bring it into focus.

If you want hotspots to automatically go to specific presets there's a few ways of doing this. First, always click to focus the list. Then, depending on how the list works, you can set a count for how many times to click to scroll down. You can also tell it to insert a down arrow X amount of times as well. Inserting down arrows may work better because the program may perceive the first two clicks as a double click and do something else if it's designed to. So keep that in mind. And lastly, if the list allows text entry navigation, i.e. start typing and the list jumps to the first preset that matches what you've typed, you can use the insert string method. Don't forget you create a list of commands to be executed. So after the selection is made you can then route the mouse (if necessary) to an Okay or load button and have it click that. Also note the delay field for actions. Sometimes executing a series of actions with the speed of a machine gun can cause problems because the program you're trying to control can't keep up. So if things don't work quite right, get half way there, or just go bonkers, try adding some delays.

You'd have to make separate hotspots for each preset. But then it's easy to pop up the list for that window and select the one you want. So just name them the same as the preset or whatever name you want to distinguish them by.

Hth,
Tom

Hi,

I was wondering about using hot spot in we.

I have a list of sounds in virtual guitarist and wanted to access the first
sound in the list. And or then able to access any the other sounds, the list
is about 90 long.

So was wondering can I make a hot spot which would search for the name of
item 1 in the list then click on it.

Can I make a second hot spot which would have an edit box where I could type
in a number. And the hot spot would then click the mouse the number of times
noted in the edit box. If I typed 54 in the box, it would click the mouse
54 times placing me on item 55.

Is this correct, does it work like this?

If I wanted to then go to item 61, I could hit the hot spot and type in 6 in
the edit box.

Or I could go to the first hot spot and it will take me back to item 1 and
click that.

Is this workable or do you have any comments on this?

I need this, as vg is a legasy product from Steinberg and they don't support
it with updates for cubase5.5 or 6 and win7.

I run it in j bridge.

The other option is I can sit there with sighted help, and type in the names
to the vst pre sets list, but I thought this hot spot may work.

We tried this in AHK, but for unknown reasons hitting the key in AHK isn't
being transferred through to the vg interface. Something to do with it's
version I think.

Thanks for any comments.

Ross.
