if anyone has an old police scanner you can dial in 146.70 to listen to the
sky worn net. They have hams at the weather service in pleasant hill, and
all the area ham groups report to them via the sky worn net. It's by far one
of the fastest ways to be alerted of any weather that's coming your way.
