Absolutely, I got that. The thing is--how did they get my phone number and what
can they do with it, now that they have it?

This is a Phishing scam, if you had clicked on the link they would ask for you
password and etc.

Subject: [real-eyes] interesting text message/question
Last night around 9:30 I received a text message from an area code 816 phone
number I didn't recognize stating that my Facebook account would be disabled if
I didn't click the following link and agree to updated terms. Obviously I
didn't click on the link, and this morning, facebook continues to work
beautifully. That said, I'm wondering where this creepy message came from and
how this individual obtained my number. I blocked the number, but wonder what
other precautions I need to take. Any advice very much appreciated.

I know of an add blocker for Chrome on the PC, and for Safari on the iPhone.
The app for the iPhone is called Crystal and does a great job of add blocking.
In Chrome, it is an extension, and it’s a bit difficult to get configured,
but it only needs to be done one time.
