a two finger double tap should do it. Two things to remember are to always leave a little bit of space between your fingers so that the sensor can detect that you are using two fingers, and remember to take the phone away from your face and lay the phone flat so that the phone switches to speaker mode. gestures on the screen will not work when the phone is against your face, this is so that when you are talking on the phone, you won't accidently press buttons. hth.
