Maybe I'm not explain ing right. You aren't supposed to go into E-mail
options at all. Only up arrow to options on the tools menu, then press
enter once on options, then shift tab, then right arrow across to mail
format. You will hear the E-mail options button, but don't go into it. I
can walk you through it by phone if this doesn't seem right.

I'm still not sure where to go. I get to email options, then I do shift tab,
but I never see format options listed. I even hit the advanced email options
tab, but I didn't see any option of that type listed there.

Yes, alt t for tools, then enter on options, then shift tab away from that
E-mail button and you will land on the list of tabs for the multiple pages
of the options dialog, , then right arrow over to mail format tab. Then
tab down to use Word to edit E-mail and uncheck it. Let me know if it
works.

I'm trying to figure out how to get to the options menu. When I'm in Outlook
2003 listview, I go to tools (alt T), then to email options. I don't see
anything about email format there, although I do see a menu that allows me
to select lplain text for email content to be read in.
I have a feeling I'm not at the correct menu.

I'm pretty sure it's forcing Word as the E-mail editor for new messages.
The list only converts plain text and HTMl E-mails, so rich text format
comes out looking like that. That's my theory anyway, and I'm sticking to
it. You can change this in Options under mail format settings. Just
uncheck edit E-mail with Microsoft Word.

Yes, I'm running XP. And the weird thing is--if someone else initiates the
message, I'm able to reply to it. It's only when I initiate the message that
there's a problem, and then, only on this list.
