Great thoughts as well and thanks for sharing. Yes I am familiar with
these resources and agree that a comprehensive resource base is a good
approach.
Thanks again!

Subject: [real-eyes] Re: Support group

Because my background is meeting people's mental health care needs I
wanted to add Another source of support just to have on hand in the
future or maybe
never:

Dealing with a significant loss such as vision is considered going
through a grief process that takes much support and understanding. It
continues on throughout one's life and is unique to each person's needs
and circumstances. Consequently, In order to ensure someone is getting
all of the help they may need there is an agency in KC accepts people
with no medical insurance to assist in mental health needs. For a free
intake you can call:
Rediscover Mental Health Services
816-966-0900

Teresa Brown takes phone intakes to determine the need for services I.e.

assessment of depression, eating disorders, or anxiety disorder.

Also, if someone is ever in crisis you can call the following number
for
further resources:---

Crisis Hotline in KC

1-800-2799-8188

If you have medical insurance that is even better but never hesitate to
call to get evaluated for some type of assistance.
