Re: touch typing. I have an Ipad 1 and first generation Ipod Touch (I'll get
with it at Christmastime!) :-) But even with this technology, the value of the
way Apple has set up touch typing is incredible! So many times I'll hear the
letter I was about to press, and think, no, that's not what I want, and I have
the ability to then self-correct before I ever press an incorrect key. I love
it!

Believe it or not it is actually easier without buttons. We will have to get
together sometime soon and I can show you how it works. Several people on this
list as well as others were convinced just from me pushing the phone into their
hands and letting them play around with my phone. Until you see with yourself
it is hard to wrap your head around this concept. Apple really has done an
amazing job with speech access on their devices. Just by sliding your finger
around on the screen voice over announces what button you are selecting. This
is kind of like using the jaws cursor, what ever is
read, is where the cursor is. When you hear what you want, then you just
tap your finger two light taps on the screen to activate the button. Then
another cool feature is with touch typing , you can set it up so that as you
slide your finger to the letter you wish to type, when you hear the letter you
want, you lift your finger and that letter is typed into the edit box you are
filling in. Where as with physical buttons you press the button then hear
what button you have pressed, after the fact. Does this make since?
Hugs, AJ
