Voiceover cannot read this particular info because it's a screen shot, a photo. But this info is for others that may find your phone if it's lost, or especially helpful for other emergency situations. -----Original Message----- From: Glenn Sent: Thursday, December 29, 2011 4:31 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Re: Creating an ICE for your iPhone Thanks, I always have my screen turned off, to save battery power, because I can't read it anyway. Will VO read this message if the screen is locked, and the lock button is pressed? You could certainly enter this info as an ICE contact, but this makes the information available from the lock screen. I did a bit of research just now and found an excellent way to record your emergency information on your phone. With this technique, it will show up on your locked screen, with no need for someone to worry about entering your password or contending with Voiceover. To accomplish this, do the following: 1. Tap to open "notes" on your iPhone. 2. Tap on "add" or create a new note. 3. Enter any information you want, such as your contact details in case of emergency or anything you would like to say to someone who finds your phone. 4. Tap "done" to save it. 5. Turn voiceover off, then press the home and screen lock buttons simultaneously. This will take a screen shot of your note. 6. In settings, go to wallpaper and change. You can then choose the screen shot you just took from your camera roll. I think it will always be the image with the highest number, although I'm not totally sure about that. 7. You will be prompted as to which wallpaper you want to change. Tap "locked screen."
