Below is an announcement for the blind and visually impaired community. Please help desseminate this information. Election officials from the counties shown below have purchased the same accessible voting machines. On Saturday, June 24th these officials will have a number of the machines set up and will demonstrate and train attendees on the operation of these voting machines. These accessible machines will be used in the August, 2006 elections. The interest these elected officials are demonstrating by conducting this event warrents a good turn out and will provide many of us our first look at the machines. Plus, a bigger concern will b the preparation and training provided to precinct managers and workers. This will give us an opportunity to emphasize the importance of training for these workers who man the polls. Hope to see you on June 24th. Shelia Wright ACCESSIBLE VOTING MACHINES ARE HERE!
