Watch out for snakes, and be safe. They are going to need all the help they
can get and then some.

I wanted to come, but just got notice that I'm being deployed to Texas for
Harvey relief.

Hi everyone,
This is were I stand on the new 6’ module.
I am up for having a work day on Saturday. I know Tom wants to get started on
the small layout expansion. I need my modules, legs and connectors and a few
clamps. I want to set my 18’ up in my garage.
Right now, I am at the point where I need to:
1. Look at building placement. It is clear to me that the two big
buildings need to be separated from each other.
2. Wire up my 4 modules and test the electricity. I need to make sure
the connections between the modules are built correctly and fit, as well as
conduct the electricity
3. Add a control rail for operating cars such as the milk car, animated
boxcars, and dump cars.
4. Lastly, building placement is key.
a. The placement of the control rails and the building supports for the
overhang must be determined before ballasting. NOT SEEN......is the 2 story
overhand of the siding and the inner Main.......it is about 7.5" over the
height of the rails.
b. These buildings will serve as “view blocks” to give a sense of
distance.
We can do all the work at my house, or we can split up into 2 groups.
Obviously, I will need help getting the modules to my place and set them
up….and, of course, I will need someone to do the wiring of the control rail.
Once this is done, we can do the ballasting, including ballast repair of the
yard modules. I am aiming for last September for that job.
