Minutes RCR Regular Meeting Saturday, Sept 17, 2022
1. Called to order by PeterC at 0859
2. Pledge of Allegiance. Lead by PeterC at 0900.
3. Miss Winnie Jacob was welcomed as a guest.
4. Review of Minutes: the previously submitted minutes (by Sec Bob White)
were accepted by the group as sent.
5. Treasurers Report: the previously submitted Treasurer’s Report (by Treas
Paul Kauffman) was accepted. General consensus is that we are in excellent
financial shape.
6. Old Business was reviewed by PeterC with active participation by the group
a) Summary of last two months: included shows at the Tractor Museum,
VTC/Charlottesville Show and the Chesterfield Co Fair
b) Layout work which has been time consuming and sometimes frustrating was
reviewed in detail with questions and comments from the group
c) Ongoing/unfinished projects which include the raffle layout, ongoing
system control issues and how to manage the control system issue during shows.
d) Upcoming Schedule was reviewed in detail and is as follows:

October York Oct19-22
VTC Show Nov19-20
SMV Show Pack & Load Nov20PM; Set up MonNov21; Show Nov25-27; Take down &
Load Nov 27PM

7. Community Outreach…….I will get with Bob White to schedule some NH groups
to come see the layouts
8. New Business
a) Website, Rick, who reviewed the use of QR codes and a new email
notification list for the public
b) April York, Ben, who reviewed the possibility of bringing the 12x15 to
York for the Orange Hall lobby…..8 people should do it it….but it is a big
commitment……time and money
c) Safety, Paul Koza who discussed the the door cables on the trailer door
as a safety issue…….we all agreed that it was an issue. We decided to get
brightly colored noodles to put on them, so they would stand out
d) “Training” sessions, Paul Koza who mentioned the value of intense control
system training which was was agreed to by members of the electrical team. All
members are encouraged to arrange personal training…….those memberswith
knowledge of the control systems and how they work on their layout readily
agreed to serve as trainers.
9. Questions from the floor
a. New 6x11 vs repair of the 6x11
b. Lionel Magic Mountain construction
c. A combination a a & b.
d. 5x9 Ping Pong Table layout if it can be made smaller (as an aside, I
checked it and it cannot be shortened, so it is a dead issue)
e. New member Jeff Horowitz thanked all for their welcoming attitude and
told us how much he enjoyed the group so far.
10.Adjournment was at about 1040……Open House followed at 1100
