I have BRLTTY installed just fine, too. But I'm also wondering where to go
from there. I have a BrailleNote Apex and I put it in terminal mode, plug
it in, and nothing. I'm using Arch Linux.

For reference, here and for anything else I might ask, I should say I'm
comfortable in PHP, Python, and a few other languages. I'm a novice on
Linux, but I'm reasonably okay in Bash. I do IT work as a day job,
everything from maintaining web apps on a Debian server to writing small
web services to dealing with MySQL and SQL Server databases to writing
Python scripts to updating VBScript files that run some in-house software.
All that to say I'm no slouch on a computer, I can code, and Linux isn't
too foreign to me. Yet, I'm not familiar with low-level commands, with the
guts of packages, advanced concepts, you get the idea. Hopefully that gives
a bit of context.
