Hi Michael,
If you are using Buster, then configure Stormux won't work.
Stormux is an Arch version of Linux, a different operating system from
Debian, which is the sort that Rasbian as it was called uses, so the
commands are different.
You would instead use:
raspi-config
And this needs to be done in a terminal or through an SSH session from any
other computer on your network.
There is a raspberry config in the start menu, if it is the version I think,
you can tap the start key, or windows key, and go to settings I think, or
system, and enter there and find raspberry config.
In a terminal you can try:
speaker-test
spd-say test
espeak test
If any of these give you audio, you are making progress.
BTW, control + C will stop the speaker-test command.
HTH.
Glenn

Subject: [raspberry-vi] Orca not working at all on my Pie 4
I am having trouble getting speech running on my Raspberry Pie 4.
I have used SD cards in a reader, Micro SD and I am getting nowhere
although a Sighted person gets the desktop.
Bullseye gets furthest which has the Desktop but Orca is not on it, Buster
just loops while looking for certain files so it doesn’t fully boot and
Stormux doesn’t get past the shell prompt and it doesn’t seem to recognise
the command configure-stormux.
I have run out of ideas as to what to try.
