Just a few extra notes on that.
You can do 1 and hit enter to go to the top.
Then if you understand the layout of the page you can simply go to that
specific line. Which I really like.
you can also do 1,20 to read lines 1 to 20
or 3,6 to read lines 3 through 6.
ETC.
Really. I understand some people may not like edbrowse. But I love it. It does
take a bit of learning though. But not to much.
Pranav. Sorry I didn't get back to your message directly. I just got tangled
with a phone call. And then was reading a book while I ate some lunch.
And then I saw Devin basicly answered your post.
You could also search for the button in question. But honestly I haven't
figured out the search feature yet.
Devin. For mail reading. I have learned a couple of things. Some just through
typing the wrong thing.
-f means fetch. -m means read mail.
-f and -m can be used singularly as well as separately.
Example. Let's say you want to fetch your mail but you don't want to read it
right now you would do:
edbrowse -f1
For pop or imap it works both ways. Just with imap it takes you directly into
the folder list.
But if you want to read email that you got from a pop server You would do:
edbrowse -m
No numbers with that because that is based on where you set your mailbox to be
found.
I don't know if you can use different config files with edbrowse. But if you
could. You could technically have several different boxes for each email
account.
Just a thought.
-f2 -f3 etc refers to the number of account in your ebrc file. Right now I have
my file with my pop part of the account first and then imap second to see if I
have to clear anything else.
Email reading gets faster and faster.
Anyway. There is supposed to be a way to go from heading to heading to with
edbrowse. But I haven't figured that out yet. And I haven't had time to figure
it out.
Now for example. I am done with this email so after I hit period on a blank
line and hit enter. I will do .= that is period equal sign and enter to know
what line I am on.
And then I will do 4,line number (whatever that line number is) to read what I
just wrote.
And if I had to edit a particular line I would search for the text (when I
figure that out) and edit the line. And once satisfied I would send it with sm
account number. IE sm1 sm2 sm3 etc.
Most things about edbrowse make total complete sense the more you use it and
think about it.
For example. I know on Pranav's site you can go to line 37 and be close to the
article currently on how to install orca.
BTW Pranav. Those numbers you hear are the numbers of the characters in a file
or on a page. Or in an email. If you hit b to go into browse mode. The reason
those numbers change is because its not counting all the extra characters for
the coding of the page. But just the numbers of characters related to the
actual text of what your reading.
Some pages as well depending on their content take a bit longer to convert
over. I just patiently wait. And in a lot of cases its shorter than chrome or
other web browsers . So its really not to long of a wait.
Sometimes I even miss when the page comes up converted to reading and
navigation mode.
I guess you can actually read a web pages code in edbrowse to simply by going
into edit mode.
