Hi Chuck, Generally pressing command O on an archive in finder. Pressing
control option shift M on an archive in finder then arrowing down to
extract here also works. If those options aren't available for your gz
archive, look for the unarchiver on the app store or on the internet.
After you extract, you'll need a program to write the image. I recommend
pie filler.
Hope this helps.
Erik

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how to get Mac OS to Unarchive an image. I have the Arch
linux iMage downloaded and before i can go about installing it to an SD
card. I need to Unarchive. i've tried going the Archive Utility, and I’m
not getting much luck. I keep getting an error one.
I look it up and I see that Mac OS is supposed to support .Tar archives.
