These may be old news to some of you, but I figured there might be others
on here who would appreciate the info.
The first one is a tool called "Xming". I'm finding it to be a very useful
tool for writing software on the Raspberry Pi. Xming makes it possible to
display windows from the Pi on your PC. It's probably an image, though I
haven't tested it with NVDA and could be wrong on that. But as a zoom user
it's been a huge help to bring up CodeBlocks and actually be able to see my
code with Windows Magnifier. So if you're using ZoomText, Magic or
whatever, this might help you too.
The other one is not really for the Pi, because it's x86 based, but it's
the most accessible Linux distro I've seen since VInux. It's called
TalkingArch, and it's (obviously) based on Arch Linux. It's command-line
only, but it comes with a screen reader already installed; I'm not sure if
the screen reader is Orca, Fenrir or what, but it definitely uses eSpeak as
its voice synth. I wish there were something like this on the Pi, cuz even
though it's command-line only it's great to have a working screen reader.
