[radioastro] Has Solar Cycle 24 started ?

13 years after Cycle 23 minimum in 1996 (3 years before Radio Jove was
started), there is very little surface magnetic field activity.
My patience is being tested !
Fortunately, according to Howe et al. 2009, Cycle 24 has started :

They study details of the flow pattern in the upper Solar convection zone,
down to 0.7 Solar radius. This is done by analyzing the Doppler shift of
spectral lines, measured on the surface (Solar seismology).
Their results shows that the deep flow pattern for Cycle 24 is "...well
established and clearly visible...".
I hope they are right, and lots of Solar bursts are on their way.
