No idea yet why this could be happening for every object/page, but...
When you see a page that is supposed to display a message but does not,
can you look at the HTML ("view source" or debug/inspect the page, as
available in a specific browser) and see if the message is actually in
the HTML, but the browser for some reason is not displaying it?
