That is a different error. Most likely you have the latest versions of gast
and beniget (which again is strange, as conda should be good at dependency
resolution).
In order to work, you should have:
- beniget =0.1.0
- gast =0.2.2

And it works well. This is not a solution, but could you try a different
matplotlib backend
