Hi all,
(Apologies for the excessive PyBERT-related traffic; this is the last.)
Many of you wishing to use PyBERT at work have reported that you’re unable to
do so, because of the corporate IT policies of your employer, which often bar
the installation of Anaconda.
In the latest release (v4.1.0), we changed our installation instructions to
recommend: Miniconda, instead of Anaconda.
We did this for a few reasons, one of which was to (hopefully) ease this
restriction on Anaconda.
Miniconda is a grossly chopped down, bare bones version of Anaconda.
And we’re hoping that, because it is so small, we can help some of you persuade
your IT folks that it can be “safe”.
If you would like help making this argument to your IT folks then, please,
contact me privately to discuss.
Thanks,
-db

P.S. - If your interested in the other reasons for moving to Miniconda then,
please, see this FAQ entry:
