Is Neopan SS the name of the film? (I've never seen it (in the States) by that name)

Here in Australia it has been sighted on shelves but very rarely. I was going to try it after reading that Barry Thornton liked it, but the local distributor of Fujifilm sent me the following:

"Date: Mon, 17 Jun 2002..........
Hello John,
Thank you for contacting Hanimex.
Jacques Guerinet, the Product Manager for Fuji Professional films in
Australia tells me he has all intentions of continuing with the Neopan SS
for the moment.
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee it will be around in a couple of years.
It is likely that Fujifilm, Japan will eventually phase it out and just
continue only with the Acros.
Kind regards,......"

So, I didn't bother. I went from 35mm to 120, and to Neopan 400 which seems to be moderately popular here. It's a very nice film, IMO.
