I think that this is, in fact, dealt with in mathematics but
its been too long and I don't remember details right now. For
instance, a trivial case is that the field of odd numbers is
infinite but so is the field of all numbers. The field of odd
numbers must be twice as large but both are infinite. Also, the
field of prime numbers is infinite but must be smaller than the
field of all numbers. There are many other examples. The whole
concept of infinity is a strange one.
One of the bits of
propaganda the Catholic church promulgates is that the human mind
can not conceive of infinity.
That is quite wrong because we have
a word for it and a well developed branch of mathematics for it.
Probably other religious also have similar pieces of nonsense.

There’s a Nobel prize in that one if I could only write it up properly...

catch.
Corona viri (along with other cold/flu viri) are sensitive to desiccation.
The virus dies once the water drop the virus is riding around in dries
out.
And sneeze-spray has all sorts of biologic glue in it so the droplets will
dry to a large (relatively speaking) particle of dry stuff.
The masks aren't really meant to stop people from catching the bug but to
keep them from spreading it. The big problem is asymptomatic carriers
spreading the bug.
Giving people the false assurance that a mask will protect them keeps them
wearing one, and this, in turn, keeps them from spreading any virus they
might have.
Think ‘capitalism’ of idiots.Old Russian saying: "There are two infinities: Man's stupidity & God's
patience."
The first infinity is bigger than the second.
