Many bits of later tricks are found in patent literature. Each patent
may list zillion potentially useful compounds, thousand preferred
compounds and dozen more preferable compounds for each agent, with a
bit of thinking and experimentation I find things that work well for
my goal...

No, I have never met this man. He emailed me after having viewed my website.
I snipped the part of the letter that talks about my website and his thoughts.
I also had snipped the part of the letter where he asks if I would like to be
