I was encouraged by Tim's recent results with extremely out of date films and
will try with some of mine which aren't as old.

However, some of my old film (10-15 years approx beyond use by date) is 120 roll film.  Backing paper issues seem likely, although none are as young as the recent Kodak troubles when they at least issued affected batch numbers.  Time will tell

My 100TMX with expiration date 07/2009, batch 681 looks great, no backing-paper
issues that I can see. The 400-2TMY, expiration 3/2020, batch 157, doesn't have
print-through/wrapper-offset, but it does have mottling (it was in the factory
packaging
the entire time and kept at comfortable room temperature).

The fresh roll of 400-2TMY I ran yesterday, 12/2022 batch 164, looks terrific.

The backing-paper change leading to wrapper-offset was circa 2014, and is
documented
to have affected the following batches:

Kodak T-Max 400
Emulsion 0148 004 through 0152

Kodak T-Max 100
Emulsion 0961 through 0981

Kodak Tri-X
Emulsion 0871 though 0931

However, while I wasn't paying attention, there was apparently another
backing-paper change in 2017, when 100TMX disappeared from the supply
chain, re-appearing at the end of 2017. I'm thinking my mottled 400TMY
is from the same period of time that 100TMX was out of production.
