On the basis that one is willing to use various paper developers and toning techniques:


Taking into account recent discussions with regard to variable contrast papers, are there fundamental advantages of graded papers (e.g. Ilfobrom Galerie) in terms of tonal reproduction that are difficult to achieve with VC paper contrast curves (Nicholas O. Lindan's pdf on gamma), assuming a suitable negative to match the more limited range of graded papers available?
