My dentist used to have a company come in and pick up his used fixer for
silver recovery. But some years ago, he switched to digital imaging that
requires a lower dose of x-rays, and no chemical processing at all.
I notice this is also the case around here for med labs doing chest
x-rays, bone density scans, cat scans, etc. There are no photo labs
around here where I live anymore.
