I have had a similar experience. I put a Hepa filter in my darkroom about
one year ago and since dust has been a non-issue.

I have a couple of dozen kitchen towels that are too old for the
kitchen. They've been washed a gazillion times, BUT, I only use them
for wiping my wet hands, wet JOBO drums, Nikor tanks, etc.

I have zero dust in my darkroom. I haven't had to spot a print, B&W
or color, for a decade.

Because, a decade ago I bought a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze and put
it in my darkroom. People can pan it all they want. The bottom line
is... it KILLS DUST DEAD! And the ozone production is so minimal that
it cannot and does not hurt anything. On my recommendation, a few
friends of mine have put an Ionic Breeze in there darkrooms and have
exactly the same success.

No wipes, no diapers, no nothin'. I can put a neg in my enlarger, in
a glassless carrier, and work on it for weeks. It stays totally dust
free. I sometimes use a glass carrier. I think I cleaned it once a
year or so ago - using ROR and a microfiber cloth. But it collects no dust.

No dust ever. Period.

There are two things in my darkroom that are protected by Smith &
Wesson - my Hass temp controller and my Ionic Breeze dust killer!

:-)
