I used to be plagued with that seemingly same problem with the Ilford WT VC Fiber about 10 years ago. I had to stop offering it in custom printing for that reason. It seemed to have something to do with wet time. If I made a print and went straight to wash I didn't get the yellow areas. But if I let the print sit in a water bath for some hours I was almost certain to get it. I saw some Ilford info after that that said you could warm up the warm tone paper by washing it a long time. I assume my problem was somehow related to some brightner or something that could eventually wash out.
