Greetings all ye brethren,
not only did Gianni (Rondinin) get a new toy
recently, I did too: I got myself a HUGE Ilford
2150 development machine for RC prints. The thing
is a tank and according to the manual it takes 14
LITERS (nearly 4 gallons) of developer and the
same amount of fixer and water rinse. So when
full the whole &§$! thing weighs about 140 kilos (nearly 300 lbs.).
The guys from the BMW Photoclub who sold it to me
also gave me a batch of Ilford 1250XL developer and fixer concentrate.
But I wold bneed to know where I can get more -
apparently the machine heats the chemistry to
about 35 degrees centigrade (nealry 100
Fahrenheit) and hence there is a special
developer for it. I guess normal developer
recipes just go bad too quickly at that temperature.
Does anyone know more about these developers? I
cannot seem to find anything about them on the
"new" Ilford Web Site and I have the feeling the
new Ilford might not make the stuff anymore.
So if anyone can point me to the make up of these
chemicals or can tell me a good substitute (for
AGFA RC papers, fixed grade and multi-contrast) I
would bve very grateful indeed.
Love
Snoopy
