I checked the old film pack negatives on a densitometer tonight.
New TXT in DK-50 1:1 shows a FB+F of 0.18
The first exposure from the film pack shows some visible overall fogging,
possibly due to heat/handling, so I skipped that one.
The rest of the TXP negs (again in DK-50 1:1) show a FB+F of 0.28 or 0.1 DU
greater than "new" (ish) film.
The one variable here is that the old film is TXP and the new one is TXT,
but I rather doubt that accounts for the difference.
Still, 0.1 DU is not exactly a huge problem - we'll see when I go to print
these - but it likely accounts for slightly underwhelming contrast under
visual inspection. It does make me rethink extending the development time
more for the remaining shots. I think a lower ASA for more exposure is going
to be about the best I can do.
So much for the naked eye...
