My problem is that I do not want to buy it, just substitute it to confirm that the formula given is no better than say D76.

What's the formula?
Here is the original given to me. It's a Lumiere formula.
eau qsp (water up to ) 1000 cc
génol (metol) 6g
sulfite de sodium (sodium sulphite) 60g
hydroquinone (hydroquinone) 1g
phosphate tribasique (?) 12g
bromure de potassium (pot. bromide) 1g
Thanks for your help !

Have you any idea of what this formula was intended for?
