On the Large Format Forum the new SP-445 tank (4 sheets 4*5 max) gets
favourable reviews, recently a new version was launched.
(see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTrtU0bhArQ for the older version)
Did not use the tank nor am I affiliated with it,
Best,
Cor

I just got a Nikor 4x5 tank in stainless steel that holds 12 negs.
Checking the web history, results seem to vary. Anyone here use one?
The secret seems to be correct loading and agitation plan. I've got a
lot of Panatomic-X aerial to cut up and try for even development.
It would seem best to load up and drop the spiral in the tank with
developer. I'm going to use Rodinal at high dilution. The tank
doesn't leak so the old inversion method works. Plus it's adjustable
for smaller size sheet film, even 2 1/4 x 3 1/4.
Thanks! Rich
I used to use 1/2 gallon sheet film tanks (stainless steel from Calumet) for
developer, stop and fix, and two rubber tanks for KHCA and selenium toner. I
used stainless steel hangers to hold the film. This worked fine, but I did not
really like processing in the dark.
I switched to Jobo CPE-2 processor and 4x5 drums and reels. At first, the
uniformity was unsatisfactory, but then they came out with new reels and now
uniformity is the same as my tank method. I do not suppose you can get these
anymore. If you can find them, be sure to get the 2509N reels.
N.B.: I am not trying to convince you to switch to Jobo system. Loading the
Nikor stainless steel reels and tanks (at least for 35mm films) is much easier
than loading Jobo's plastic reels.
