Dear community,
Much thanks for all your wishes. The work was inspired by the dedicated activism of the fsm groups in India who constantly strive for an alternate world view, most importantly through its practices. Or to quote Christopher Ketly, another researcher who studied free software "to become collectively independent of other forms of power and gain capabilities of speaking to existing forms of power, by producing actually existing alternatives".

Much of the work has been discussed during our meetups but I can make a coherent presentation again in one of the upcoming meets.

thanks again!

Hello everyone,

I am happy to announce that Balasubramanian who is part of our Free
software movement has successfully defended his Ph.D thesis titled,
"Democratic practices of technology in developing countries".

During a conversation, he also said me that, he had included our
activities, VillupuramGLUG activities and FSFTN activities as case studies
in his thesis.

I take this moment to congratulate Dr. Balasubramanian on the behalf of
the free software and hardware movement in Pondicherry. Eagerly waiting to
read your thesis and it in fact creates more enthusiasm to continue our
activities.
