- Mugunthan from Chennai came here to brief about Free Software
Movement of India's 2nd National Convention.
- The convention will be held on Jan 26,27,28 & 29 of Jan 2017 at
B.S. Abdur Rahman University, Vandalur, Chennai and around 800 delegates &
2000 participants are expected. Website works are still in progress, we
can
expect it to go live soon and registrations for the convention will also
be
open at the same time.
- Purpose & themes (Software Freedom, E-Governance, Communication
Networks, Knowledge Commons, Gender Gaps, etc.,) of the convention was
explained.
- He also called for contribution to the national convention works
which includes poster designing, social media campaign, organizing
workshops and local events to advertise the convention and also proposing
workshops on the first day of the convention.
- Based on the above, respective committees have been formed (Social
Media, Design, & Workshop Committees).
- If you are interested to be part of any of the above committees, do
share your interest.
- Another agenda of the meetup was to organize a free software camp
during Christmas - Newyear holiday season. As usual, we need to find a
venue for this.
- Suriyadeepan confirmed that he can handle AI/ML session & Sarath
confirmed on Arduino basics for workshop prior to conference.

A meetup is organized tomorrow at 4.30PM at Pondicherry Science Forum
with the following agenda,
1. Organizing a Free Software Camp during Christmas - NewYear

2. Free Software Movement of India (FSMI)'s 2nd National Convention
announcement followed by the discussion on the same about contribution

our side.
Requesting participation from everyone who were active in previous years
and have participated (or) contributed to our activities here at
Pondicherry.
