Burl,

Just to add to what Michael says here, the Normal mode of operation for the
PTR2 does not permit the PTR1 operations of "Insert" or "Punch in". It also
only allows section editing - you cannot perform phrase operations like cut,
copy and paste.

Normal mode makes the PTR2 behave quite like a mini disk recorder and thereby
makes it simpler for some users. If you want the full features that you
currently get in the PTR1, you need to switch to the Book Creator mode through
the menu system. Off the top of my head, I think this is done through the
Control Panel menu.

Hope this helps.

Jamie

Burl, this is the correct behaviour of the PTR2 in normal mode. To get
the PTR1 behaviour, you have to activate the book creator mode. All this
is described in the well written manual.
