battery issue, volume

Got a question for you all, i am using the latest version of the ptp 1
firmware and have a question for you all , when i turn up the volume on the
ptp 1 to about 20 or 22 i get this sound like the speaker is clipping or
would have been over driven, could a defaulty battery do this? and if so
would buying a new battery work? i fear the place i got the unit from gave
me a used batery and well, when i noticed this this has been the past week
or two, and am wondering if the battery might be the problem.
Or could it e the humidity that could be causing this problem?
just kind of wondering.
when i plug the unit in and use an external speaker device it works like it
should what humidity range is the ptp 1 supposed to be able to operate
proppley in?
