Hi Jamie I know about that chapter. And it is quite comprehensive enough. Just thought for some folks it would be handy. But the manual is very well written and one of the most comprehensive I have ever worked with. I don't know if it is comprehensive enough for what you want but give it a try anyway. There should not be any need to buy a separate guide. I think they developed their guide on their own so you may not get it from other sources. That manual is quite something I must say. Almost too comprehensive in places. One of the things I forgot to mention is that an extra file could have perhaps been included with something like a quick start guide? -----Original Message----- From: ptr1-users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ptr1-users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jamie Cuthbertson Sent: 09 November 2008 02:40 PM To: ptr1-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: New ptr2 initial impressions and questions Andre, For the various settings for specific recording modes, try Section 17.2.2 in the manual. You should find the list of each mode with its settings there. There really is so much to learn. This is so much more than a player/recordder I would almost call it a small sound computer. But definitely not for everyone! I must say I still miss a proper line-out socket on the machine. But this is simply the hifi chap in me speaking! I simply do not feel very comfortable playing something through a headphone socket through a good quality stereo system! Think plextor should be congratulated by the way they made the layout of the machine and with the different forms of different keys. It does not feel cluttered at all and I found the layout easy to learn. I was supprised at the sound quality of the internal microphone. The sound is clear and without any serious distortion. Have to test it with a few external mikes though. One thing I must say I do miss is some kind of battery status indicator. That would have been realy nice! I see in the recording settings menu that it has a few presets for different types of recordings. I have been wondering if it is at all possible to find out e.g. what kind of settings is used for the Conference mode? I do not seem to be able to find this in the manual. Will probably come back with some more stuff later!! Regards Andre No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG.
