Steve,

To be honest, I'm not sure. My guess is "No" if you mean the dialogue box
in the PRS as the feature only talks about CD writing and not writing to
card.

Having said that, once the project has been completed, and you have used the
"Build Book" feature under the Tools menu, you should be able to simply copy
and paste the whole project onto the CF card root directory using Windows
Explorer or My Computer.

If you want to have more than one project on the CF card, you need to create
separate sub folders for each project and then create a "Discinfo.html" file
in the root directory and make sure that there is a separate entry in it for
each project/book you need to access.

See the sample discinfo.html file attached.

You will need to edit this file and insert your own information as follows,
creating a new version of the line starting with <a href=" line for each
project:

*Title* - replace this with the title you want to use for the whole card.
*FolderName* - replace this with the name of the sub folder in which each of
the projects are stored. Make sure not to use any spaces in the folder name
either here or when you create it in the first place.
*Project Name* - replace this with the appropriate project name. Spaces are
OK in this text.

You should be able to edit this file with Notepad or any other text editor.

If you need any more help, just get back to me.

Regards,

Jamie

I'm sure you are right about this.
I haven't a card reader at present but will get one. Will it then appear in

the CDR drive dialogue option?
Thanks
Steve

Steve,

If you mean that you tried to copy the PRS project direct from the computer
to a CF card in the PTR1, if my memory serves me correctly, I don't think
that this is possible because the PTR1 can only show its CD-RW drive to the
computer.

If you want to copy a project from the computer for use in the PTR1, you
need to use a card reader in the computer, copy the project onto the CF card
and then insert the CF card into the PTR1 using your adaptor.

The other thing that you can do is to burn the project onto a CD and then
use the "Backup" facility on the PTR1 to get the project onto the CF card.

The PTR2 is, however, able to link direct to either the CD drive or the CF
card - this is one of the major upgrades that was implemented in the move
from PTR1 to PTR2.

I guess that you are getting the error message because the PRS software is
trying to link to the CD drive in the PTR1 and there is no disc for it to
write to?

Regards,

Jamie

I tried copying to the CF Card in the PTR1 from the PRS programme, but it
said damaged or improper disc - should it work?

Steve,

I suspect that you have not selected the correct drive in the "Options",
"CDR Drive" option. You have to make sure that the software knows which
burning device to use and it is probably defaulted to your on board CDR
drive and not to the PTR1.

It doesn't normally matter which one you choose, but you must put the CD in
the one that has been selected in this option dialogue box.

Hope this sorts the problem for you.

Kind regards,

Jamie

Hi

I've just started to dabble again with the PRS programme after my previous
go a year back. I've imported a few MP3 files and set a few levels. I came
to record to the CD but it says NO DISC when there is.

I'm clicking the disc icon and inserting the disc into the PTR1. I take it
that it must be the PTR1 and not my PC's burner. I did have a new PC in
April (WIN XP) and have not attempted to burn a DAISY since having it.

How can I get it to record?
Regards
Steve
