Just really praying for God's hand on you and your organization.
I've been seeing so many organizations that are out their to spread God's
word and provide healing both physical and spiritual under so much attack.
But I will never believe in victory for the devil, but will always believe
in God's hand on all of us.
Homelessness has become such a such a sad reality in so many of our
cities. Quite shameful in a country so abundant as ours.
Keep up the hard work - it's worth it. And know that you have prayer
behind you!

A bit of an update on me, I’ve been very busy this past year in
Pregnancy Care Center was looking for a new board member.
This is a ministry that has been very dear to my heart. Aside from anypersonal views I hold, for years I’d hear from my daughter about friends
who had an abortion and the total lack of care and support they received.
They were assured it was just a minor medical procedure with no counselling
or aftercare regarding how they may feel afterwards. Many experienced
incredible emotional reactions and were essentially shamed for it and felt
they had no one to turn to.
But I also have strong feelings about radical views on both sides, whichin the past made me hesitant. Add to that I have no medical training or
giftedness in this area. I admit it, I’m a wuss when it comes to medical
stuff!
So I approached the offer with caution but it soon became apparent thatthis was a door God was opening for me to serve. My application was
approved with lightening speed and suddenly I was a member of the board.
Exciting, but I was also well aware that I don’t have any prior experience
as a board member.
Well fast forward to today…the experience has been nothing like what Iexpected. Over the past year our Center has been blessed beyond measure. We
ran an incredibly successful campaign to pay off our mortgage, we in the
process of adding medical services - on site free ultrasound and std
testing.
But with much blessing has also come incredible attacks. The past yearhas made very clear to all board members why God has placed me there as I
am the only one with any type of HR and employee management experience. And
we have huge employee issues that we have been dealing with. Last night we
had to have an incredibly difficult meeting with our Executive Director,
who has been off on job related stress leave. A wonderful woman who has
great talents and has done wonders for our Center but lacks the skills and
strength to handle the current employee opposition. We met with her and her
husband in my home and God’s presence and guidance was so evident. An
incredibly difficult evening was handled with love and grace, only through
the work of the spirit guiding us all. Especially since even as a board we
all have different views on what we think would be best.
So this is where I need your prayer so much. Because of my experience,the other board members, and our Executive Director really look to me for
guidance. After much prayer, I believe there is a workable plan, but the
next few months will be incredibly challenging and I am confident as we
work to fight the enemy, the attacks will increase.

Aside from the internal turmoil, there are also many outside factors at
life organizations and it’s on their agenda to take away our tax exempt
status. If they did that, we would have to either donate all our assets to
another charitable organization (including our building) or the government
would confiscate. So it’s not just a matter of not giving our donors tax
receipts, it would literally close us down.
We live in a moderately sized city about an hour from Toronto. Torontopolice actively ship their homeless to our city. They give them $50-$200
and a bus ticket here on the condition they get on the bus. So our downtown
area is extremely depressed with a large homeless and drug addicted
population. We have Christian organizations that provide services but
absolutely no rehab options available. Add to that we were one of the last
cities with relatively low rent and house prices in the area. In the past 2
years house prices have tripled and many landlords have sold rental
properties to take advantage of the spike. Consequently rents have also
increased dramatically and we have a dire shortage of rental options. This
means our native residents are rapidly facing homelessness also. And our
Center is located smack dab in the heart of our downtown. In many ways a
great location, but also surrounded by numerous dark forces and oppression.
Surrounded by the enemy on all sides, as it were.
We know our God is greater and he has mighty armies fighting on ourbehalf. We see it daily, but we also know we need all the prayer we can
get, so I thank you, my lovely prayer warrior sisters, for remembering us
and helping us in this very real fight.
