Something is not clear concerning the combat rules. If Grey Star doesn't use
his staff for combat (at some point of the book, his staff is confiscated),
how can he do damages to his enemies? Indeed, the amount of damages is  the
number listed for the enemy in the combat results table multiplied by the
number of WILLPOWER points that Grey Star elected to use. But how can he
elect how many willpower points if he's not using his staff, but a weapon
instead or even no weapon at all??

Here's what the rules have to say.

If at any time your WILLPOWER falls to zero or below, you may not use
any of your spells or your Wizard’s Staff. (The Game Rules)
If you enter combat without your Staff, deduct 6 points from your
COMBAT SKILL. If you have no weapon at all, you must deduct 8 points
from your COMBAT SKILL. (Magical Powers)

So to summarize, Grey Star cannot use the staff when his WILLPOWER falls
to zero at which point he must either use a regular weapon (-6 CS) or go
unarmed (-8 CS). The rules never state that he can elect to use
WILLPOWER in combination with a regular weapon, only the Staff.
