You are on a professional list. Your language is far from professional.
you need to end all commands with ;, or you'll get -> which allows you to write

      hi all,

i tried to download the mysql reference manual but the html file was so
huge that it locked my computer.
does someone have docs for getting started with mysql and how the hell do
you break out of the -> prompt?
