Hi Katherine:I will give them a try as soon as WindowEyes can handle the new UIA and Web Accessibility formats for VS 2010. There is going to be allot new to learn me thinks. I will either do a tutorial on the new VWD and Vb.net or perhaps try and write a script if necessary and I can handle the technicals of the COM Scripting.
Have a nice Sunday evening. Rick USA----- Original Message ----- From: "Katherine Moss" <plymouthroamer285@xxxxxxxxx>

Hi Rick, Don't forget that these also work in VS2010 pro as well. -----Original Message----- From: programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of RicksPlace Sent: Saturday, July 31, 2010 8:28 PM To: programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Visual Web Developer HI: For your first problem of closing the "Designer: Ctrl-F4 Closes the current MDI child window Here are a couple of other general hot keys: F7 Switches from the design view to the code view in the editor Shift-F7 Switches from the code view to the design view in the editor Ctrl-Alt-L SolutionExplorer ctrl+alt+x ToolBox f4 Open PropertiesWindow Ctrl-J Lists members for statement completion when editing code Alt-Right Arrow or Ctrl-SpacebarDisplays statement completion based on the current language or autocompletesword if existing text unambiguously identifies a single symbol Ctrl-Pagedown Moves to the next tab in the document or window (e.g., you can use this to switch the HTML editor from its design view to its HTML view Ctrl+PgUp should go back. These are some I pulled from a rough document but I never finished apolished version so it has allot of untested hot keys. I have used the aboveones I believe in VWD 2008.There are several others I have used that enhance accessibility and improveyour speed but since I never finished the series of articles I am not sure how many I have detailed examples of in the works. A key factor in working in the IDE is having set it up for accessibility. You don't need scripts with WindowEyes but I think you might with JAWS. See if the above hot keys work in your setup to help start getting around the IDE.You likely know you can also navigate by selecting items under the View Menuor, as Jacob mentioned, right clicking a file and selection options from theDropDown list. My primary issue with it is invoking event declarations, but fiddling around in markup, entering event names etc. sometimes works well enough. Currently, I'm stuck in the design view which I got to by using the Jaws cursor to click on "Design" near the bottom of the screen. I now can't get back to the code window. I'm used to using Jamal's VS scripts and jumping between the solution window with [ctrl] w (cord) and then s, using [f7] to go to code and [shift] [f7] to go to design. I just can't figure any easy way to jump around in Web Developer 2008 like I can in C# 2008. Any tips? Also, perhaps a link to those tutorials might be useful. That said, what exactly are you trying to do? When you want to build a site you use a combination of the HTML Editor, the Forms Designer and the VB or CSharp code editors alongwith the various dialogs and Database features. What and how you use themdepends on the type of site you are building. Since you are working from a book, what is the problem you are having with the book's instructions? If so, I would appreciate some assistance. I'm trying to follow along with Programming ASP.net 2.0 - a book I downloaded from Bookshare. I am an experienced computer programmer (using C#.net) and an experienced web developer. I can't, however, figure out the navigation of the IDE. Can anybody point me to a tutorial geared towards a blind developer for either of these IDEs? Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
