OT: reading Greek Characters

Hi everyone,
I have a question that is OT for programming, but I am hoping maybe one of
you has tips:
Yesterday I was reading an economics article I downloaded in PDF. The file
was quite well-behaved except that JAWS was not reading the greek characters
in the equations. Any tips about what I need to do to fix that.
