FYI -- I did a fruit basket program in IronPython that is available at
http://EmpowermentZone.com/ip_fruit.zip

Basically, the language supports the standard Python 2.6 modules and gives full access to the .NET Framework. Stand-alone executables can be compiled. Unfortunately, third party Python modules that work with standard Python generally do not work with IronPython.

Just started looking into/at iron python:

Basically seems like a version of python that includes handling/support
for .Net framework objects/structure, and busy going through tutorial
material at the moment, which is focusing on making use of a sort of
command line interpreter, but also just wondering what editors most guys
would recommend?
One other thing is was also looking into just using EdSharp, but can't
remember where to change system bootup path variables to allow it to
find the python compiler etc., and while added full path for python 2.6
to ini file path to python.exe it still says can't find it.
Another editor had recommended to me for python is GVim:
http://www.vim.org/
(thanks kerneels, and for your jaws scripts for it - will see how works
when get to actually editing source files)
Anyway, just wondering how many other guys out there are actually active
in python as such, and how/what they work using?
Stay well
