Nod the developer site is new but the api has been available for a long time. ken -----Original Message----- From: programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:programmingblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jamal Mazrui Sent: Tuesday, June 21, 2011 9:20 AM To: ProgrammingBlind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Bookshare developer API I had a conversation with the CTO of BookShare yesterday. My understanding is that there has been an API for a few years, as you indicate, but it was mainly information that BookShare gave privately to certain developers. I think he said the public developer site was launched around CSUN time. I had not heard of it even then, so thought the info was worth sharing. BTW, he also mentioned that a BookShare iOS app is now waiting for Apple approval at the iTunes store, and an Android one is being developed by volunteers, though that is further off before release. Among other things, this supports development of book searching and reading apps on mobile devices. http://developer.bookshare.org Jamal __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind __________ View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind
