Hi Jesse,
thanks for contacting me. I don't know codeblocks - I only heard o fit in
some way I don't really remember right now.

Fortunately there are some Solutions to your programming works:
1. You could use a express edition of visualstudio. At least VS 2012 ist
quite accessible to JAWS and also to NVDA with some restrictions when
debugging. You can create complex solutions with that product but it would
need some learning curve that may be beyond your class needs.
2. You can use just a editor like notepad++ (or anyone you know quite well
and like) and run the compiler from the commandline. It sounds a bit plain
and not user friendly, but you can concentrate on writing code and will
understand the preprocessor, compiler and linker very well - which is
essential to ujnderstand error messages in any environment. You will use a
compilation environment like GCC. Your teacher may help in selecting a
fitting solution. If needed he can contact me to help with this selection.
3. You can use Eclipse with the CDT plugin an GCC to use a confortable
programming environment for C/C++ programming. But you'll have to understand
eclipses concept of perspecives and views. Eclipse is very accessible to
JAWS and NVDA.

Just a little question fromm e: Who forwarded you to me? Not that there is
anything wrong with that - I am just curious.

Hth

Heiko

Betreff: inquiry about using JAWS withthe Codeblocks development for
programming

Hello, my name is Jesse tregarthen. I am taking a course for computer
programming currently. My teacher has requested I download a
development environment for writing and compiling my C code. This
environment is called Codeblocks and I am running version 13.12 of
this software. When I create a new project, I had to switch to the
JAWS cursor and found it difficult to even find the type of project I
need to create. After some trial and error, I was eventually able to
find it and hit the left mouse on it. Once I filled out the accessible
dialogue box to make my project, It placed me in a read-only box so I
can't write my code and compile it and I can't seem to figure out how
to get to where I can write code. I am just wondering if you know if
JAWS is accessible with this development environment and if so, what
am I doing wrong? Also, do you know of any development environments
that are accessible? I have a class tomorrow so I am doing my homework
to see if there is a solution to my problem Thank you in advance for
your help. I am running JAWS version 15.0.11024. Kindest regards,
Jesse Tregarthen
