Hi all. As a technical assistant at my new job at an adult education
facility for people with disabilities, I work on fixing up courses in
Moodle. Moodle, thankfully, accepts Markdown, which also, thankfully, can
use HTML in a new element.
I've used Emacs, with Emacspeak, for much of this, but wanted to try VSCode
on Windows. I just finished a lesson with it, and here's what I've found.
Emacs' key commands make me a little more productive. The sound Emacspeak
makes for a line with an error helps more than pressing F8 to go to the
next problem. I felt like Emacs held my hand a bit more than VSCode, which
I need so that my Markdown comes out great the first time. I do like
VSCode's ability to preview the markdown in the browser. Emacs can do that
too, but EWW (Emacs Bewbrowser) isn't quite as modern as Chrome.
All in all, VSCode is usable for me, but I feel rather lost and without the
tools that Emacs has when using it.
