Hi, I've been looking for job opportunities, currently I'm an
independent developer.
Finally I found a job oportunity, but the company asked me if I prefer
Windows or Mac. I already have a very good Windows computer, so, I'd
like to try how is the workflow to coding in Mac.
Currently, I prefer to edit music using mac and Protools, but I can't
buy the expensive licence of protools since I'm not a professional
producer.
But how is the development area?
I currently use VS Code as my main program editor. Sometimes I use
Android Studio. Sometimes I need to install some drivers to load
firmwares to my micro controllers like ESP32.
I have a lot of add-ons for NVDA, some of them are important to me.
For example, my add-on "beep keyboard", that plays some sounds when I
press certain keys, is very useful for me because I usually disable
the character speaking when I'm typing.
I prefer to hear sounds for some events like toggling switch keys, or
when I check or uncheck some control.
I love the beep indentation reference of NVDA, I don't like to read
the number of spaces in the indentation.
Also, I like the beep sounds in the progress bars. As you see, I
prefer to minimize the speaking when I can replace it with reference
sounds.
Can I develop scripts, triggers or plug-ins for voice over? If yes,
where I can find the api for voice over?
What are the advantages when using voice over for development?
What about the use of the console? I use the console to handle some
things for git and mainly github. I use the console to control some
cloud systems.
Let's not take using XCode into consideration, that's an obvious
advantage but I'm not always going to be able to use xCode.
I will mainly develop in python and node (with typescript) In the
future I may develop things in Go.
I used mac for basic tasks, but outside xCode, I did not use a Mac yet.
P.S. Is Eloquence available in voice over for mac as in iOs 16?
