environment/tabs and windows/allow new files to be opened in the preview tab.
There’s also a button in the solution explorer, I think it can be gotten to via
nvda object nav/jaws touch cursor.

Nope, but looking for that setting now though.
I don’t see it under Tools/Options yet.

Did you disable files preview in the solution explorer?

Ok, maybe it would help if I actually read the subject line in its entirety.
I updated VS to 15.9.1.
And now I am getting the VS not responding issue when I open the same solution
file.
But I waited, and a couple minutes later VS came back to me, and I am able to
navigate the solution explorer, open/close branches, open/close files, etc.
with no issue now.
This is not my problem with large solutions, but I wanted to let you know if
you wait, it might clear itself up after a couple minutes. Not ideal, but a
temporary work-around.
Still running JAWS 2018, and it looks like an update to JAWS 2018 came out
today. I will install that, retest, then install JAWS 2019 and retest.
HTH.

When I do screencasts I tend to use OBS, open broadcasting studio. It requires
some setting up though. Might simply setting up a hangouts call and sharing
your screen be an option? Dante, that seems like a good way to ask follow-up
questions as well? If not Hangouts, I hear Zoom conferencing is particuarly
accessible.

Tim,
Yes, I second the request of a suggestion for a free accessible screen video
recorder. I need to get Dante a video as well.
What version of VS are you running?
I am running the version listed below with JAWS 2018. I am about to upgrade
to JAWS 2019, but want to test this problem prior to installing JAWS,.
I can open solutions that are linked to TFS (Team Foundation Server) and can
navigate around without VS blowing up immediately. I do have problems with real
large solutions though, and that is what I need to duplicate and get to Dante.
Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise 2017
Version 15.7.5
VisualStudio.15.Release/15.7.5+27703.2042
Thanks.

Hi,
Just to report that I just updated to this build of VS then:
1 - Opened a project using Alt+F, J, 1.
2 – Immediately pressed Ctrl+Alt+L to go to the Solution Explorer.
3 - Arrowed up and down a couple of dozen times and it froze up on me,
requiring a reboot.
I performed no other keystrokes other than those described above. Dante asked
me to try and capture this in a video clip a while ago, but I was having a
router issue at the time – this is fixed now, so I’ll try and repro with some
display capture going on – can anybody recommend a freebie accessible tool to
do this, please?
Best wishes.
